KEEPER OF NATIVE TREES
We notice and maintain native trees on the land we own.

INVITATION
A good landowner
We all know of trees on our land that are larger than usual or have a story or legend attached to them. These are native trees and they are only there because we, the landowners, have noticed and preserved them. They are worth preserving in the future - helping to ensure the diversity of species in nature and preserving Estonia's cultural heritage.
We also know of trees that have the potential to become just as important - a good landowner recognizes them and lets them grow.
The Nature Fund, the Estonian Private Forestry Association and the Luua Forestry School invite you to participate in a voluntary initiative to notice and preserve native trees in forests, fields, parks, along the streets, in home gardens and elsewhere.
There is no uniform definition of a native tree in Estonia. After discussing with the experts, we have established that we call a native tree a tree with a circumference of at least 220 cm at chest height (130 cm).
Landowners who have joined the initiative can, if they wish, inform others of their responsible attitude by using the special label.

I keep native trees
I promise to acknowledge and protect native trees, i.e. trees that are chest-high, on the land I own measured with a circumference of at least 220 cm. That's how I will voluntarily contribute to Estonian nature, by encouraging diversity and abundance of species and preserving heritage.
